For beach lovers, the site is five miles from the safe sandy beach at Swanage and the glorious stretch of golden sands at Studland Bay is within seven miles. There is easy access to Poole Harbour, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Weymouth and the National Trust's Brownsea Island, home to the red squirrel.

The magnificent Swanage Railway is situated just a few minutes walk away, allowing the opportunity to ride on heritage steam and diesel trains to Swanage town centre and Corfe Castle village. Thomas the Tank Engine often visits in October – a great favourite with young and old alike.
