Ilfracombe is the nearest town with a scheduled bus service throughout the day. Barnstaple is served by rail and the National Express Coach Service. A regular bus service connects Barnstaple, Ilfracombe and Woolacombe. Both Ilfracombe and Barnstaple are accessed via Junction 27 of the M5 and then the A361 to Barnstaple and on towards Ilfracombe. Leave A361 at Mullacott Cross roundabout and turn left on the A3343 for Woolacombe.

Two miles of magnificent golden sand backed by sandy hills
The vibrant beach is a favourite with families and has a broad expanse of golden sand and offers reasonably safe swimming. Activities on the water include surfing, windsurfing and canoeing and zoning is used to increase safety.
Beach facilities include disabled access, toilets (including disabled), refreshments and lifeguard cover during the summer months.
