The beach is popular with both families and surfers and, despite its close proximity to town, is quieter than some of the other beaches in Newquay. It is also possible to walk to neighbouring beaches at low tide.
There is good disabled access and beach facilities include toilets, cafes, deck chair hire, surfboard hire and lifeguard cover during the summer months. The beach is also fairly close to the centre of Newquay.
