Popular family beach set beneath tall red cliffs.

Jacob’s Ladder beach, so called because of the wooden staircase that leads down to the beach, is approximately 1 mile long and is set in a beautiful sheltered bay. It consists mainly of pebbles with a large expanse of sand at low water. The pebbles are actually protected by law and it is an offence to remove them! When the tide is out there are plenty of rock pools to play in. Beautiful, tall red cliffs back the beach.

There is easy access to the beach and facilities include a beach café. Beach huts and deck chairs are available for hire and there are toilets situated in the cliff top Connaught Gardens nearby.
