Sheltered, pebble beach backed by a promenade.
The beach in Sidmouth is approximately a mile long. Set in a bay it is fairly sheltered. The beach itself consists mainly of pebbles but it is occasionally sandy when the tide recedes. The Promenade runs the length of the beach and the town is close by providing all the facilities you require. The eastern end of the beach has spectacular red sandstone cliffs.
