Only dedicated museum of Americana outside America, celebrating the development of American decorative arts. The museum traces the American way of life from colonial times to the eve of the Civil War through a series of authentically furnished period sets.

Also houses its renowned American quilt collection. The museum is set amongst extensive and spectacular grounds that include a replica of George Washington's Mount Vernon Garden, a colonial herb garden, a large arboretum of rare American trees and two walking trails.
