Powderham Castle lies in a beautiful deer park setting on the banks of the River Exe, just a stone's throw from the historic cathedral city of Exeter. You can see the majestic rooms and hear fascinating stories of the Castle as told by our knowledgeable and entertaining guides. Children and adults will love the miniature steam train. Take a trip along the track to the working blacksmith and wheelwright or stop off at the Secret Garden where there are plenty of friendly animals to see and hold.
Take a tractor and trailer ride from the Castle to the Country Store which is open all year round and bursting with fresh westcountry produce as well as a Deli, Butcher and Bakery. It's the ideal place to come anytime of year and enjoy a light snack or meal at either the coffee shop or restaurant whilst relaxing in the beautiful surrounds of the castle and deerpark! In Spring walk through our woodland garden to the Belvedere for superb views across the Exe Estuary.
