Things to Do: Beaches
There's plenty going on, including regular firework festivals throughout the summer, KidZone beach areas, an Imax Cinema and an Oceanarium.
The historical pier and amusements make this beach ideal for the traditional day out by the sea. There is also a free kids club on the beach during summer and plenty of water activities including windsurfing, surfing, canoeing and paddleboats.
This is a real family friendly beach with beach entertainers and bouncy castle. Activities on the water include sailing, windsurfing and canoeing. Pedalos are also available for hire.
The one-and-a-half kilometre long Hengistbury Head separates Poole Bay and Christchurch Bay and encloses Christchurch Harbour on its landward side.
This is a popular beach with families and facilities include a Kidszone scheme to ensure parents find lost children quickly. Activities on the water include windsurfing and surfing and the beach has a popular seafront restaurant.
