Things to Do: Beaches
Weymouth Central Beach, Weymouth, Dorset
Award winning beach that provides a unique and all round visitor experience
The beach consists mainly of fine sand with shingle and pebbles at the north end, 40 metres to 150 metres in width on mean tides and approximately one mile in length. Mainly a Georgian seafront, with the beach adjacent to the town centre and harbour.
Lulworth Cove Beach, Nr West Lulworth, Dorset
Amazing horseshoe shaped natural cove with pebble beach
The sheltered nature of this unique cove makes it the ideal place for swimming, snorkelling or just relaxing. There’s an excellent cliff top walk to Durdle Door and during the summer you can take boat trips along the Jurassic Coast.
Quieter than the main town beach, Lodmoor is the perfect place for topping up your tan. It is a 15 minute walk from the centre of Weymouth and adjacent to the Lodmmor Nature reserve. The beach consists mainly of pebbles and bathing is considered to be safe.
An idyllic strip of sandy beach bordering Christchurch Harbour and adjacent to the ancient headland of Hengistbury Head. A picturesque, peaceful site without vehicular access.
