Penhale Sands, together with Perran Sands and Perranporth Beach form a three mile stretch of golden sands. Large sand dunes back the beaches and are fun to explore. The beaches are popular with surfers.

The beach at Daymer Bay is wide, sandy and secluded. The beach itself lies within the mouth of the Camel Estuary and so is sheltered. The gently sloping beach makes it safe for swimming and ideal for families.
The beach boasts rock pools at its northern and southern ends at low water. There are substantial sand dunes along its eastern boundary, which adjoins a golf course.

The beach is bounded by cliffs and a river and on its on the western side and by cliffs and sand dunes on the eastern side. Cafés, shops, car park, hotels and public houses are all nearby. A seasonal lifeguard service is also provided.
