Things to Do: Beaches
The sand and shingle beach at Babbacombe is popular for sailing and fishing off the breakwater. The sheltered conditions and easy access to the water have also made it extremely popular with the diving community.
A small pebbled cove close to the harbour and town centre providing some respite from the bustle of a busy resort.
The pebble beach at Beer is a natural suntrap and is sheltered from sea breezes by the surrounding cliffs. Part of the beach is still used by local fishermen and deep sea fishing trips can also be arranged.
This is an ideal beach for families and has plenty of soft sand for making sand castles. Canoes and deck chairs are also available for hire depending on how active you’re feeling.
Rock Beach, Nr Padstow, Cornwall (North Coast)
A long sandy beach on the East side of the Camel Estuary
The sandy beach stretches from Porthilly Cove to Daymer Bay and is backed by sand dunes for much of the way. Activities on the water include sailing and windsurfing and there is a passenger ferry service crossing to Padstow.
