Things to Do: Beaches
Porthgwidden is a small, sandy beach which is popular for those families with small children. It is a delightful sun-trap with safe bathing and lifeguards on patrol during the summer season. The beach is convenient for the town and also has a good restaurant close by.
The beach at Wembury is surrounded by low cliffs and is set in a Marine Conservation Area. The beach is small and rocky when the tide is in but at low tide there are large areas of sand and lots of rockpools to explore.
Rockley Sailing School, Rockley Diving Centre and the Hobbie Cat Centre are active throughout the year and provide excellent tuition and some hire facilities. There is a small beach shop and café. Rockley sands is a friendly little beach which plays host to many water activities but still manages to keep its quiet, rural charm.
