Perran Sands, Perranporth, Cornwall (North Coast)

Long golden, sandy beach backed by dunes.

Perran Sands, together with Penhale Sands and Perranporth Beach form a three mile stretch of golden sands. Large sand dunes back the beaches and are fun to explore. The beaches are popular with surfers.

Port Mellon, Mevagissey, Cornwall (South Coast)

Small sandy cove with rock pools.

Sandy beach set in a small cove, a 20 minute walk from Mevagissey. The beach is around 150 metres long but is completely covered at high tide. At low tide there are plenty of rock pools to explore. Swimming here is considered safe but there are no lifeguards on patrol. On some occasions Seals can be seen swimming off the beach or resting on the rocks.

Sandsfoot Beach, Portland, Dorset

Small sandy beach backed next to harbour.

Located next to Portland Harbour in one of the most tranquil areas of Weymouth, Sandsfoot is a small sandy beach which is great for getting away from it all.

Seatown, Chideock, Dorset

Great for fossil collecting!

A shingle beach set in a bay beneath the highest point on the south coast, the imposing Golden Cap. The beach is great for collecting fossils and is also very popular with fishermen.

Shell Bay, Poole, Dorset

Beautiful sandy beach backed by sand dunes.

Shell Bay is a beautiful sandy beach with easy access by road or ferry. The fine sand is ideal for building sand castles and there are dunes to explore too. There is also a woodland nature trail behind the beach.
